From May 3rd to June 8th, OOA Gallery opens its doors to ‘Little Things That Matter’, a moving solo exhibition by Nigerian artist Okoye Chukwuemeka John. With deeply personal brushstrokes and profound emotional depth, Okoye invites us into a world where silence speaks, small moments carry weight, and every line drawn is a testimony to resilience, memory, and human dignity.
Born from a need to articulate the emotions words could not, Okoye’s artistic journey began in childhood as a quiet refuge. Drawing became his first language—a medium through which inner complexities found release. Under the mentorship of realist painter Dennis Ani, who shaped his discipline and empathy through his own challenges, Okoye developed a practice that is technically refined and emotionally resonant.
