Artistic Vision and Practice
Ebuka Michael is a Nigerian photographer whose work offers a vibrant exploration of identity, community, and spirituality. Currently pursuing studies in photography and graphic design at the University of Lagos, he began his artistic journey by capturing the dynamic life of Lagos, a city that deeply influences his work. His photography is characterized by bold, saturated colours and a keen sensitivity to the human experience.
Michael defines himself as an "iPhone photographer," believing that the immediacy and accessibility of the device allow him to document fleeting moments that might otherwise be lost. He views his iPhone as a tool for storytelling, enabling him to capture the essence of everyday life in Lagos with spontaneity and authenticity.
