INVESTEC CAPE TOWN ART FAIR 2026: EXHIBITED ARTISTS: MISKA MOHMMED & MEDERIC TURAY
On the occasion of Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2026, OOA Gallery is pleased to take part in one of the leading contemporary art events on the African continent, held in Cape Town. This new edition continues our commitment to presenting strong artistic practices rooted in contemporary cultural dialogue and plural narratives.
For this edition of the fair, the gallery presents a duo presentation featuring Miska Mohmmed and Médéric Turay, two singular and complementary artistic practices exploring questions of identity, memory, and spirituality through sensitive and powerful visual languages.
Investec Cape Town Art Fair is a major meeting point for international galleries, artists, curators, and collectors, contributing to the visibility of contemporary artistic practices from Africa and its diaspora. The fair also highlights participating galleries and artists through its official editorial platform.
Exhibited Artists
The work of Miska Mohmmed explores intimate and symbolic territories, where body, space, and color become vehicles for both personal and collective narratives. Through a practice marked by subtlety and emotional tension, her work creates open images that invite introspective and sensory engagement.
In dialogue, Médéric Turay develops a vibrant pictorial vocabulary informed by ancestral references and contemporary gestures. His rhythmic, layered compositions reflect a meditation on transmission, transformation, and the invisible links between past and present.
The stand will also be punctuated by two hand-painted vases by Médéric Turay, conceived as ritual and sculptural objects, where the pictorial gesture leaves the canvas to inhabit material and space.
By bringing these two artistic worlds together, OOA Gallery offers a space of dialogue and resonance, highlighting the diversity of contemporary expressions emerging from Africa and its diaspora.
