Through the Reedgrass frames the landscape through vertical dark reeds that partially veil the view beyond. Behind them, turquoise water, green hills and pools of yellow light create a layered, atmospheric space. Miska Mohmmed uses the foreground not as a barrier, but as a way of slowing the gaze. The viewer looks through marks, shadows and plant forms into a landscape that remains fluid and elusive. The work captures one of Mohmmed’s great strengths: turning observed nature into a living field of memory, rhythm and perception.
This original acrylic painting on canvas will appeal to collectors interested in contemporary landscape painting where reeds, water and abstraction create an intimate passage into memory and place.
