INVESTEC CAPE TOWN ART FAIR 2026: EXHIBITED ARTISTS: MISKA MOHMMED & MEDERIC TURAY
On the occasion of Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2026, OOA Gallery is pleased to take part in one of the leading contemporary art events on the African continent, held in the heart of Cape Town. This new edition continues our commitment to promoting strong artistic practices rooted in contemporary cultural dialogues and plural narratives.
For this fair, the gallery will present a duo of artists whose practices—both singular and complementary—explore questions of identity, memory, and spirituality through powerful and sensitive visual languages: Miska Mohmmed and Mederic Turay.
The works of Miska Mohmmed explore intimate and symbolic territories, where the body, space, and color become vehicles for both personal and collective narratives. Through a practice marked by subtlety and emotional tension, the artist creates open images that invite introspective and sensory engagement.
In dialogue, Mederic Turay develops a vibrant pictorial vocabulary informed by ancestral references, contemporary gestures, and a near-spiritual visual language. His rhythmic, layered compositions reflect a deep meditation on transmission, transformation, and the invisible links between past and present. The stand will also be punctuated by two hand-painted vases by Mederic Turay, conceived as ritual and sculptural objects, where the pictorial gesture leaves the canvas to inhabit material and space.
By bringing these two artistic worlds together, OOA Gallery offers a space of dialogue and resonance on its stand, highlighting the richness and diversity of contemporary expressions emerging from the African continent and its diaspora.
We look forward to welcoming collectors, curators, and visitors to our stand to share this presentation and engage in conversation around the works.
