Michel de Jong Vázquez is a Belgian-Spanish professional with a master’s degree in computer science and a multidisciplinary background spanning aerospace, telecommunications, finance, photography and contemporary art. After years working in high-performance technical environments, he brought his analytical expertise together with a long-standing engagement with visual culture, digital strategy and photographic practice.
As Digital & Editorial Director at OOA Gallery, Michel oversees the development of the gallery’s digital presence and editorial identity. He leads the strategic evolution of the website, SEO architecture, online visibility, content structure and digital tools, ensuring that the gallery’s platforms support both its artistic programme and its international development.
He also plays a central role in shaping OOA Gallery’s editorial framework, contributing to artist biographies, exhibition texts, editorial insights and online presentations, while helping to define the structure, visual logic and digital deployment of the gallery’s newsletters. His work brings together technological precision, curatorial sensitivity and a strong attention to language, helping to position the gallery’s programme within a broader conversation on contemporary African art and diasporic artistic practices.
As Photography Coordinator, Michel contributes to the development and presentation of the gallery’s photography programme, supporting artist relations, visual documentation, image editing, artwork presentation and the preparation of online and physical exhibitions.
By combining digital strategy, editorial direction and photographic expertise, Michel helps strengthen OOA Gallery’s identity, visibility and international reach, bridging the worlds of technology, contemporary art and visual storytelling.
