Oliver OKOLO, A flower as a gesture II - Detail
Oliver OKOLO Nigeria, b. 1992 – Works from €3,500 – €19,000
(19 3/10 × 15 2/5 inches)
In A flower as a gesture II, Oliver Okolo introduces the flower as a sign of both offering and protection. Positioned close to the face, the blooms create a visual threshold between the sitter and the viewer, suggesting intimacy while preserving a sense of distance. The work belongs to the A Flower as a Gesture series, in which flowers become gestures of care, fragility and remembrance. Through the contrast between the figure’s calm presence and the flower’s living, temporary nature, Okolo reflects on identity, vulnerability and the passage of time.
