In Solace, Michael Ebuka creates an image of immersion, refuge and emotional suspension. Seen from above, the figure floats within a field of intense blue water, surrounded by clusters of green aquatic plants and sheltered by a large leaf. The composition suggests both vulnerability and protection: the body is exposed to the water, yet the leaf becomes a fragile vessel, a shield, almost a companion. Ebuka’s saturated colour transforms the scene into something both documentary and dreamlike. The photograph holds a quiet spiritual charge, presenting nature not as background, but as a space of healing and inner return.

This contemporary photographic work will appeal to collectors drawn to Nigerian photography where water, colour and the human figure create a poetic meditation on refuge and renewal.
