In Here or There, Abel Beyene brings together three figures within a layered interior landscape, combining acrylic and collage to evoke memory, displacement and emotional suspension. The fragmented background and textile-like motifs suggest a space between places, identities and states of mind. The work offers collectors a sensitive example of Beyene’s exploration of migration, belonging and contemporary African experience.
